Dispensary Bar and Diner
The Dispensary Bar and Diner serves delicious food at affordable prices, and has meals to appeal to all members of the family.
Inspiration for the name came from World War II veteran Roye Hammond. Roye was a member of the 2nd NZ Expeditionary Force based in Alexandria, Egypt before his unit fought in the Battle of Crete.
Roye said the dispensary was an important gathering place for soldiers, where you could go for a drink, something to eat and to socialise with your mates.
The Dispensary hosts events such as senior citizen lunches, veterans’ group afternoon teas, Friday evening digger hours, along with monthly family dinners.
